McGard Cone Seat Lug Nuts and Locks are the standard by which all others are judged!
Made in the USA, their quality far exceeds anything else on the market, hands down.
Cone seat lug nuts (sometimes called acorn seat) are used on the majority of wheels. Please be sure that this is the type that you have before purchasing.
Cone lugs will seat on a BEVELED area or pocket in the wheel.
The angle of the cone seat on your lugs should match the angle of the beveled area on the wheel.
DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH A BALL OR RADIUS SEAT, WHICH HAS A ROUNDED POCKET!
The holes in the wheel will normally be a pretty snug fit around the lugs, without any significant gap.
These type of lugs normally do not have washers.

Shank style lug nuts (sometimes called mag style) are used on some OEM wheels, but are mostly used on aftermarket racing wheels.
Please be sure that this is the type that you have before purchasing.
Shank lugs will seat with a washer, and the seat area on the wheel will be FLAT.
The wheel will also have a noticeable space AROUND the wheel stud when the wheel is placed on the vehicle, which is where the shank portion of the lug nut will go into as it tightens.
The lugs will normally not protrude very far past the face of the wheel (if at all). These types of lugs normally have washers.
Most dually wheels also utilize this type of lug nut.

Ball seat style lug nuts (sometimes called radius seat) are usually used on European OEM wheels. Please be sure that this is the type that you have before purchasing.
Ball seat lugs will have a rounded bottom and the seat area on the wheel will have a round pocket.
DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH A CONE OR RADIUS SEAT, WHICH HAS A BEVELED POCKET!
